DESCRIPTION:It’s the 2026 Summer JAMS Benchmark Unveiling! You’re invited to come support our JAMS Apprentice Artists and their Bench Clients as we reveal what we’ve been up to for 8 weeks! Each of the 20 benches will be unveiled during this time accompanied by youth speeches and staff remarks. \nWe look forward to opening our doors to you for a night of celebration! The event will be held on Friday\, July 24th at 5:30pm (Doors at 5:15pm). \nParking is available at Van Go\, in the public lot to the East across New Jersey Street\, at Kennedy Glass to the Southeast\, and along New York and New Jersey Streets. \nPlease be aware that parking is in high demand during these events and allow ample time to park and arrive for the program\, which will begin promptly at 5:30 PM.

We will be unveiling 5 unique picnic tables that honor the many legacies of Lawrence and showcase the deep culture of Kansas to our global visitors this summer for the World Cup! \nWe will have snack and light refreshments and encourage folks to arrive at 5:15pm when our doors open. Programming will begin at 5:30pm followed by the unveiling! \nThe event is a pet free event with exception for service animals and is free and open to the public.

SUMMARY:Van Go Mural Unveiling at J.Lynn Bridal and Suiting
DESCRIPTION:Join us at J.Lynn Bridal and Suiting as we unveil the newest mural painted by Van Go’s Apprentice Artists from The Arts Train! This event is free and open to the public and will be held on-site at J.Lynn Bridal and Suiting at 731 Massachusetts Street on Friday\, January 30th 4:30pm-6:00pm. \n*This is a pet free event \n“Intertwined” \nThe sparrow is often a symbol of friendship\, love\, and teamwork- all values of a strong marriage. They are a common\, humble and unassuming; not flamboyant or ostentatious. The birds are resilient\, hard working\, and adaptable to many environments. In this design\, they work both as pairs and as a community bound together by a rhythmic ribbon. The floral theme is both an element of nature\, and an intentional depiction of the intricate lacework found in traditional wedding dresses. This motif was borrowed directly from one of the gowns found in this very shop. It provides the viewer with a sense of delicate movement throughout the design. Combined with the ribbon\, it circulates the viewer’s eye around the composition. The central arch in this design provides support and balance to the largely symmetrical composition. Historically\, the stone arch had a keystone which holds everything in place. Here\, we see a birdhouse in that position. The home for the sparrows provides the strength to this structure.
